  • The primary professional responsibilities of this instructional faculty member are to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in song and opera literature, diction (utilizing the International Phonetic Alphabet), and additional music courses in accordance with individual areas of expertise and departmental needs. Regular teaching responsibilities include conducting two choral ensembles (the Chapel Choir, an SATB-mixed voice choir of sophomores through seniors, and the Viking Chorus for first-year tenor/bass singers), teaching voice lessons, and other coursework such as choral conducting and/or choral literature. There are also opportunities to teach interdisciplinary courses such as Music and Social Justice. Duties also involve advising, committee service, and departmental obligations, including participation as a member of the St. Olaf Christmas Festival Artistic Committee. 
  • Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to supporting a thriving and diverse undergraduate music program.
