Brown University - Asst. Professor, Postcolonial Theory

Brown University invites applications for a joint position in the Department of Modern Culture and Media and the Department of Comparative Literature, in postcolonial theory at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure track. We seek a scholar of nonwestern media, literature, and culture as well as postcolonial theory. Research interests should be transnational and comparative (in at least two languages). Applicants should be conversant with both media and literary theory, and have teaching interests in both literature and media. Media research and teaching can include digital media, cinema, and/or television. Applicants must have received their Ph.D. by the time of appointment. Applications must be postmarked by November 1.

The English Department of Williams College seeks a two-year, full-time visiting assistant professor specializing in gender and sexuality in U.S. literature, and in feminist or queer theory or both. Candidates should be prepared to teach a full range of introductory courses in the English Department, as well as courses in their specialty.
