The Department of English and Program in Women’s and Gender Studies at Ithaca College invite applications for a tenure-eligible position in British/Transnational Literature of the Long 18th Century/Romanticism, with additional research/teaching expertise in Gender/Sexuality Studies. In addition, a subspecialty in poetry is desirable, but not required. The successful candidate will have proven teaching ability, will demonstrate scholarly accomplishment and the potential for future research, and will be committed to efforts to build a diverse and inclusive academic community. Faculty in the English Department have tremendous flexibility in developing courses in their field and are not responsible for teaching composition classes. The teaching responsibilities are 3/3, with 2 of these courses annually dedicated to Women’s and Gender Studies. The teaching load may include advanced courses in the Long Eighteenth Century/Romanticism, Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies, Introduction to Poetry, as well as introductory courses of the candidate’s design.

The University of Arizona’s Department of English invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin Fall 2020. We seek a specialist in British Literature of the Long 18th Century with an active research agenda in the period. The successful candidate will be expected to design and teach specialized graduate and undergraduate courses in their field of research as well as undergraduate surveys and other courses that cover the canonical texts and genres (poetry, drama, satire, prose) in the period.

An excellent opportunity for a part time Lecturer in in Eighteenth-Century & Romantic Literature, from 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2020.
The successful candidate will cover Dr Emily Senior during her Wellcome ISSF funded leave. You will be expected to contribute to teaching and convening across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in English and the humanities. Duties will include contributions to BA and MA specialist teaching such as the BA English level 6 option Romanticism and the MA Victorian Studies Summer Project and broader survey modules such as the BA English level 5 module The Novel. You will also contribute to other thematic and period-based modules in the humanities, act as personal tutor and supervisor and take on administrative duties.
The successful candidate will likely have a PhD in a relevant subject area, or be close to completion, with teaching experience at HE level. Teaching experience at postgraduate degree level and administrative experience are desirable. All of our teaching is research-led. Expertise in Eighteenth-Century & Romantic Literature is essential. An interest in gender and the medical humanities may be an advantage. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the development of innovative approaches to teaching, as well as undertaking appropriate administrative duties.
This is a part time appointment, working 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE).
Remuneration Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £38,594 rising to £44,113 per annum.
The salary quoted will be pro-rata for this part time post and is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area.

The School of English and Journalism is seeking to appoint a lecturer to provide teaching in the area of eighteenth-century and Romantic literature. This position is a fixed-term contract to provide cover until August 2020 and will concentrate on teaching duties.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer to join a dynamic and growing community of academics and students. The Lecturer in English will be expected to make a contribution to the teaching of a core module on Georgian literature, focusing on eighteenth-century prose and poetry, as well as a variety of writers from the Romantic period and early nineteenth century.
This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2. Accordingly, applicants must be EU citizens.
