  • Lecturer, Teaching & Administration focused, in History, Feb 2018 to Dec 2019.
  • There is the possibility for either one appointment at 1.0 FTE or two appointments at 0.5FTE, and candidates should indicate their interest in one or both levels in their application.
  • The appointees’ principal duties will be the coordination and delivery of History courses at a range of levels, including Honours, and supervision and co-ordination of post-graduate students as appropriate. Other responsibilities will include appropriate pastoral care of students, administrative tasks, and possible supervision of tutors.
  • Candidates must hold or be near completion of a Ph.D. in History. The candidate will ideally have teaching experience at tertiary level, a record of research and publication, effective interpersonal skills and a collegial approach to teaching and administration
  • While applications are invited from any field of history, strong teaching and supervisory experience in the history of Aotearoa New Zealand is preferred, as is the ability to teach into at least one other area of specialisation. An applicant appointed at 1.0 FTE will have teaching expertise in the history of Aotearoa New Zealand as well as capacity to provide courses related to another area of specialisation.
