Early Modern

University of Manchester (UK:Eng) - non-European

• Lecturer (~asst/assoc prof) in Early Modern History, to begin 1 Jan 2022
• Candidates will be expected to have proven expertise in material culture studies and any field of non-European early modern history c.1450-1750
• Teaching: You will contribute to a range of existing undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including the MA in Medieval and Early Modern Studies. At level 1 you will design and teach a History in Practice seminar and contribute to the Early Modern survey course ‘Forging a New World: Europe 1450-1750’. At level 2 you will contribute to the innovative material-culture focused course 'The Stuff of History: Objects across Borders, 1500-1800'. At level 3 you will devise and teach a specialist course based on your own area of research expertise. In addition to lectures and seminars, you will also take an active role in undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation supervisions, in PhD supervision, and act as an academic advisor.
