  • A Ph.D. in History or related field, such as Africana Studies, African American Studies, or American Studies is required by the time of appointment. Candidates should demonstrate an active research agenda, with a record of scholarship, that complements the existing strengths of the department. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience in mentoring students of color.
