The Department of English invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, specializing in American, British, or Global/Transnational modernisms. The position begins in the fall 2019 semester. The area of specialization is open, but may include such topics as the relationship between aesthetics, political cultures, and social justice; race, gender, class, and sexuality studies; literature and science; the rise of metropolitan subcultures; and the emergence of networked technologies and screen cultures. The Department of English at St. Lawrence University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in twentieth- and/or twenty-first century British Literature. We are open to specializations including Modernist, Contemporary, and British Anglophone Decolonial/Global South Literatures. Genre focus is open. The Department of English at St. Lawrence University has 12 full-time faculty members and an annual Viebranz Visiting Professor of Creative Writing who offer courses in British, American, and World literatures, and Creative Writing: poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. Our undergraduate major includes concentrations in Literary Studies and Creative Writing.

Specialization: Critical theory, with an additional emphasis in English-language modernist and/or contemporary literatures.
