Seattle University (WA) - Full Time Instructor - Organizational Leadership []

The School of New and Continuing Studies at Seattle University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Instructor in Organizational Leadership. The appointment is for two years with the possibility of renewal, beginning September 1, 2017. 

The B.A. in Organizational Leadership provides a program for adult learners that focuses on educating the whole person by developing the practical knowledge and professional formation that leaders need to successfully manage daily organizational operations. The program promotes an ethical and socially informed worldview that values diversity and justice. Courses in the Organizational Leadership B.A are offered in online and hybrid format for post-traditional students.

The Instructor of Organizational Leadership will be responsible for developing course content and teaching in online and hybrid (blended) formats, faculty advising; and service.  Instructors will have the opportunity to teach summer terms.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching adult learners and designing and teaching online/hybrid classes that creatively integrate technology and pedagogy. The candidate should be able to teach courses in one or more areas:


  • Social media and digital marketing
  • Organizational behavior
  • Project management
  • Financial management
  • Human resource management
  • Conflict and negotiation
  • IT leadership
  • Organizational leadership

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in business or management, organizational development, leadership studies, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. and practical professional experience in at least one of the areas being taught; and prior experience teaching in higher education with a passion for working with diverse, adult students in progressive educational environments; and a commitment to the university and its mission.
