  • SAS offers either one-year or three-year renewable faculty appointments starting August 2021, pays competitive salaries, provides health insurance and research allowance. • Note from the poster: This is a legit place and search (check out their list of faculty: https://sas.utmn.ru/en/people-en/). As of the time of posting, the recruitment page is still for 2019 (so, don't get confused by the wrong deadline); this ad is made from the announcement by the SAS director (https://www.facebook.com/shcherbenok/posts/10221035839498324).
    • No, this is definitely not a legit place. Everyone read this and save your time applying to this place: https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/odr/how-love-what-you-do-went-wrong-in-an-academic-sweatshop-in-siberia/
    • It's legit in the sense that they will pay your salary, you will work with some of the smartest students in Russia, you will have medical insurance, and - yes - they will demand a lot, but your teaching load will be manageable. I'd rather be there than an adjunct in the U.S. working for $2,000 per course without any benefits.
