  • They have not. It looks like someone maybe posted an update under the wrong school. The search chair made a comment below a few weeks ago explaining how they, for some reason, divided their Skype interviews into 2 separate groups, like a month apart. Does that mean they're interviewing as many as 25-30 people? I really hope not, for everyone's sake. I assume they won't start getting back to people for campus interviews until mid-Feb at the very earliest. So hang in there for just a few more weeks, you already exhausted, beaten, downtrodden, sleep-losing candidates on the academic job market! (Feb. 3)

John Cabot University (Italy: Rome) – Classical studies[]

  • Adjunct lecturer position for the fall 2019 semester.
  • The successful candidate will teach one or two classical studies courses in the fall 2019 semester. The courses will probably be in ancient Greek or Roman history, classical mythology, or ancient Roman literature, although candidates with other areas of competence are encouraged to apply.

  • Lecturer (~tenured asst/assoc prof) in Roman History (c. 50BC to 600AD), to begin 1 Sept. 2019
  • The Department is particularly interested in receiving applications from scholars whose main teaching and research interests focus on Roman Britain or the Roman Empire more widely, including its eastern and western provinces.   • It was sent via email. I don't feel comfortable pasting it here. I had interviewed via Google Hangouts and then three members of my committee were contacted by phone. Very friendly interactions. They asked for me to be patient, as I might not hear from them again for a few weeks and then one week later I received the form letter by email saying they had cancelled the search. I contacted the chair of the committee who very politely confirmed. Not much else to tell. These things happen I suppose.
