Indigenous Canadian Literature and Culture
The Department of English at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in Indigenous Canadian Literature and Culture. The appointment is at the rank of Assistant Professor; appointments at a higher rank may however be considered. A doctorate in hand or imminent is necessary. Scholarly publications and university teaching experience are desirable.
In addition to developing our undergraduate and graduate courses in Indigenous Literature, the candidate will contribute their area expertise throughout our Canadian Literature curriculum, teaching period, genre, and specialized courses across the field. The candidate will participate in the department’s robust research milieu through, for example, supervision of Masters and Doctoral dissertations, and will enjoy opportunities to collaborate in a variety of relevant interdisciplinary programs and research centres.

Dalhousie University (CAN) -- TT Asst. Professor - Canadian Literature[]
The Department of English at Dalhousie University invites applications for a probationary tenure-track position in Canadian Literature at the rank of Assistant Professor. Research interests in all areas of Canadian Literature will be considered, but preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate teaching competence across the field. Applicants must have a PhD by the date of appointment and should demonstrate the potential for excellence as a scholar and a teacher. This position is subject to budgetary approval.
Established in 1818, Dalhousie is a leading research-intensive university offering more than 180 degree programs in 11 faculties. It is the largest university in Atlantic Canada and is located in the heart of Halifax, a scenic coastal city and capital of Nova Scotia, which is home to 13 Mi'kmaq First Nations, a deeply rooted historical African Canadian community, and an increasingly diverse population. The English Department has a thriving graduate program, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate courses and supervise MA and PhD students.

University of Toronto (CAN) - TT Asst. Professor - Canadian Literature - CAMPUS INTERVIEW STAGE[]
The Department of English at the University of Toronto, St George campus, invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in the field of Canadian Literature. Research and teaching interests in all areas of the field will be considered. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin on July 1, 2017.
Applicants must have earned a PhD in English or an appropriate field by the date of appointment or soon thereafter. The successful candidate must display evidence of excellence in both research and teaching. Evidence of excellence in teaching should be demonstrated via a strong statement of teaching philosophy, excellent teaching evaluations, strong endorsements from referees and the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application. Previous university teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must also provide strong evidence of research of an internationally competitive calibre, as evidenced by publications in leading journals in the field, presentations at significant conferences, a strong research dossier (to be submitted as part of the application) and strong endorsements by referees of high international standing.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will have expertise in the following areas: writing and composition; introduction to literature; Romantic, Twentieth-Century, or Canadian literature.
