Boğaziçi University (Istanbul, Turkey), Assistant Professor of Literature in English (open field) 

The Department of Western Languages and Literatures at Boğaziçi University invites applications for a full-time position of Assistant Professor of literature in English to be filled by a Turkish national starting in the academic year of 2021-2022. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to integrate active scholarship with excellent teaching. PhD thesis defense is required by June 30, 2020. Bilkent University (Turkey) - Open-rank faculty position - Department of English Language and Literature[]

The Department of English Language and Literature at Bilkent University, Ankara, invites applications for an open-rank faculty position. We shall consider applications from scholars with research interests in any subfield of English literature, and we especially welcome applications from candidates whose research specialties include drama or the Romantic period.

Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in English literature in hand by January 2020, a good teaching record, and a clearly defined research agenda. Candidates should be able to offer specialized teaching in their research field, and should also be well prepared to teach across all genres and periods of English Literature. The starting date for this post is September 2020.

The Department of English Language and Literature currently offers an undergraduate programme that covers British, Irish, and postcolonial literatures, and ranges from the medieval period to the present day. Governors State University (University Park, IL) is a minority-majority institution inviting applications for a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor in English to begin in the Fall Semester 2020.

We seek a teacher-scholar who is a British Literature generalist committed to enhancing our culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion while complementing existing faculty strengths. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in English (British), European, and Post-Colonial literatures along with some first-year composition. Additional teaching responsibilities in the major or graduate program will vary based on area(s) of expertise. Plymouth State University (USA: NH) - Assistant Professor, Department of English - British Literature OFFER ACCEPTED[]

The Department of English at Plymouth State University (PSU) in Plymouth, New Hampshire, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to commence in August 2020. PSU is looking for an interdisciplinary British Literature specialist who can design and teach curricula across disciplines and methodologies. Primary expertise in Medieval, Renaissance, and/or Early Modern literatures may be prioritized, but the ability to teach survey courses in the full history of British literature, including contemporary literature, is necessary. Because this faculty member will be expected to bring students together from various disciplines and to collaborate across PSU's learning clusters, preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate strong secondary expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital humanities, technology and literature, global literatures, and/or writing and writing pedagogy. We are seeking a colleague with a strong base in British literature but passionate about comparative and interdisciplinary approaches.

The English Program offers B.A. degrees in English, middle and secondary school teacher certification, and middle school and secondary school non-certification This is a full time, 9-month tenure-track position with benefits. The candidate will also be expected to advise undergraduate students and provide service to the university.

The successful candidate will teach upper-level English courses specific to his/her area of specialization, survey English Literature, and Freshman Composition courses. Preference will be given to candidates possessing the ability and qualifications to teach British Literature courses. The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 teaching load, serve on departmental and university committees, have a willingness to learn and employ instructional technology in all courses (in face to face, hybrid, and online modalities), participate in university functions (including student advisement/mentoring), and develop and/or maintain a record of scholarship in his/her field of study.

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine is seeking an early-career scholar for the full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of English. The successful candidate will bring a focus on ethical and political issues (e.g. marginalization, social justice, sustainability, radical hospitality) in, and surrounding, literature and its criticism. Monmouth College, a private liberal arts college located in western Illinois, invites applications for a two-year appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor of English. The appointment is to begin August 2020.
