The Department of Western Languages and Literatures at Boğaziçi University invites applications for a full-time position of Assistant Professor of literature in English to be filled by a Turkish national starting in the academic year of 2021-2022. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to integrate active scholarship with excellent teaching. PhD thesis defense is required by June 30, 2020. Bilkent University (Turkey) - Open-rank faculty position - Department of English Language and Literature[]
The Department of English Language and Literature at Bilkent University, Ankara, invites applications for an open-rank faculty position. We shall consider applications from scholars with research interests in any subfield of English literature, and we especially welcome applications from candidates whose research specialties include drama or the Romantic period.
Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in English literature in hand by January 2020, a good teaching record, and a clearly defined research agenda. Candidates should be able to offer specialized teaching in their research field, and should also be well prepared to teach across all genres and periods of English Literature. The starting date for this post is September 2020.
The Department of English Language and Literature currently offers an undergraduate programme that covers British, Irish, and postcolonial literatures, and ranges from the medieval period to the present day. We seek a teacher-scholar who is a British Literature generalist committed to enhancing our culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion while complementing existing faculty strengths. The Department of English at Plymouth State University (PSU) in Plymouth, New Hampshire, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to commence in August 2020. PSU is looking for an interdisciplinary British Literature specialist who can design and teach curricula across disciplines and methodologies. Primary expertise in Medieval, Renaissance, and/or Early Modern literatures may be prioritized, but the ability to teach survey courses in the full history of British literature, including contemporary literature, is necessary. Because this faculty member will be expected to bring students together from various disciplines and to collaborate across PSU's learning clusters, preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate strong secondary expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital humanities, technology and literature, global literatures, and/or writing and writing pedagogy. We are seeking a colleague with a strong base in British literature but passionate about comparative and interdisciplinary approaches.
