Grand Valley State University (MI) - Assistant Professor, Anatomy and Physiology in Biomedical Sciences

The Biomedical Sciences department at Grand Valley State University is pleased to announce it is searching for a new tenure-track faculty member to join our department in Fall 2017.

Qualifications and Education: Qualified applicants will be committed to both classroom teaching and research involving undergraduate and/or graduate students. Applicants with demonstrated experience teaching an integrated human anatomy and physiology course and associated labs are encouraged to apply. The area of research emphasis is open, although we encourage candidates whose research complements foci of existing faculty to apply. The successful candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. or equivalent in anatomy and/or physiology, or a related field.

Responsibilities: Duties include a 9 contact hour (3 course) teaching load per semester, scholarship, and service. The primary teaching duties for this position will be an integrated anatomy and physiology course, although faculty may be asked to teach in other areas of expertise.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Startup funds for research are available.

Department: The Biomedical Sciences department has been a rapidly expanding department at Grand Valley State University. The department has approximately 1,300 undergraduate majors, 41 full time faculty members, a Master’s degree program, and offers courses that support other undergraduate majors, the university’s general education program, and select graduate programs. Along with our primary teaching and research facilities, a new science building has recently been completed to support laboratory opportunities for students and faculty, including a vivarium, aquatic facility, plastination lab, and microscopy suite with a confocal. University of Washington (WA) - TT Assistant Professor, Biostatistics

The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington wishes to fill two full-time (100% FTE) tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. University of Washington (WA) - Assistant or Associate Professor TT, Bioengineering 

The Department of Bioengineering in the College of Engineering and School of Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the level of assistant or associate professor with an expected start date September 16, 2017.

The Department of Physiology & Biophysics at the University of Washington announces a search for a full-time faculty member at the assistant professor (tenure track) level with a 12-month service period. Washington State University (WA) - Assistant Professor TT, Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology

Summary of Duties: The position is defined as approximately 75% research/graduate education and 25% teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a productive, extramurally funded research program in the area of infectious diseases/immunology. Candidates with a research emphasis in food-, water-, or vector-borne diseases are especially encouraged to apply. As a faculty member the successful candidate will be expected to establish effective collaborations with current WSU programs and be active in the department's graduate program, including mentoring graduate students and serving as a member of student advisory committees. The successful candidate will also be expected to be active in the academic service arena. Responsibilities include teaching the 3 credit Veterinary Immunology course in the professional veterinary medicine curriculum. The course is one of the core offerings of the department and is taught in a clinically relevant context. The successful candidate will seek to excel in his/her teaching and will interact closely and effectively with other teaching faculty in the department, and be actively involved in the Department's collaborative teaching efforts. The Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology seeks candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.

Required Qualifications: A PhD degree in biomedical science or related field is required. At the Assistant Professor level, evidence of 36 months of productive post-doctoral research experience is required. The research area should be compatible with the departmental research focus on infectious diseases. Areas of emphasis include immunology, food- and water-borne diseases, and vector-borne diseases. Candidates must have demonstrated abilities in conducting hypothesis-based research and publishing high quality papers in top tier journals; a track record of, or strong potential for attracting extramural funding, and a history or interest in contributing to high quality veterinary and graduate education.
