NOTES:

  • I can say, as a slight correction, that the job isn't tenure-track, as Charleston has no tenure system. The contract for the selected candidate is a one-year contract, with two more one years, followed by a three, and then followed by a five, presuming the candidate passes everything with Faculty Affairs.
  • Thanks for clarification. IHE ad has it marked as TT, but nothing else about ad suggests that, so your explanation makes sense. [9/19]
  • I can't locate this job on the University of Charleston website. Is Inside Higher Ed the only way to apply? I ask because Inside Higher Ed seems to want me to copy/paste my cover letter...
  • (10/4 reply to above) I applied through IHE (copying and pasting the letter into the tiny text box) and shortly after I submitted the application I was contacted by the department administrator to supply the additional documentation that the ad asks for. So, as far as I know, this is the only way to apply for the position.
