Sciences Po (FRA) - Contemporary Maghreb [senior hire][]

Professor in History specialising in the history of Contemporary Maghreb
The Center for History is therefore seeking to hire an expert in contemporary Maghreb who is able to develop research and courses spanning a long period, from the 19th century to the present, and to connect them to the transnational history of the Mediterranean area when applicable.
Candidates must be internationally renown thanks to their research, professional activities, teaching experience, publications and language skills. They must demonstrate their involvement in the most active and recognized international research networks in their field of research. Thorough knowledge of archival resources is required, in addition to the ability to dialog with the other social sciences, especially the ones present at Sciences Po. Candidates will also have to demonstrate their ability to train students in research at the Masters level, mentor PhD students and secure research grants.
Teaching Load: 128 master class-equivalent (CM) hours that include 72 hours of courses per year and complementary pedagogical services (56 CM hours) - The hired professor will teach in French and/or English across all levels at Sciences Po, including undergraduate courses (in Paris and at the regional campuses, especially Menton), masters and doctoral courses, and masters courses at other schools, such as PSIA (Paris School of International Affairs). Candidates’ ability to teach courses in fields and subjects beyond the confines of their research interests, and their knowledge of the international debates shaping historiography will be especially appreciated.

Is this posting real? The contact name is for the person in charge of visa services at Duke, and the only way to "apply" is to mail a resume to the physical address for visa services.

Short answer: no, it's not real. --> yeah, very sketchy.

I tried emailing the contact for more info and got no response. Was going to ask if other knew anything about this ad...oh well.
I emailed both Interfolio and the admin at Duke's History department last week. Interfolio contacted whoever paid for the ad and says it's real. History didn't respond to me, which I'm sort of shocked by. If it's real in that there is technically an advertised search going on, there is clearly a strong preference that no one apply for it. Deeply favored inside candidate, maybe? I don't know, but I'm certainly not going to bother with it.

I doubt that very much, not just because of this strange ad but also because Duke advertise their open positions on academicjobsonline.org and they have nada in ME history. They do have a comp lit job in Arabic culture. So bottom line: until we see an actual job posting this is BS. Moving on.
If real, it's *very* strange and raises tons of red flags. Why would a visa office handle applications for a tenure track job -- or any job for that matter? The search isn't attached to a department, or even a proper search committee? Why the terse job description and no deadline? Why a resume by mail, not a CV, with no required cover letter or references? It's fishy to say the least.

The job description, particularly the advertised course of "Radical Islam," and the fact that applications would be sent to the person who handles visas for international students, strikes me as very alt-righty.

There are practical, non-sketchy circumstances in which an ad like this must be placed. I'm convinced this is the case after speaking with someone who would know, and advise against engaging in rumor.

Kemal H. Karpat Professorship in Ottoman History, a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, to begin Aug. 2018
We seek a scholar whose work illuminates the Ottoman Empire and the formation of the modern Middle East; research languages must include Ottoman Turkish.
PhD must be in hand by start date
The successful candidate will offer courses in Ottoman/Turkish history, as well as introductory instruction on the modern Middle East and perform departmental, university and community services as appropriate for faculty rank.
