===University of California, Irvine (CA) - Tenured (Associate or Full Prof.) Position - Digital Media, Learning, and Design=== The Department of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine is seeking exceptional candidates for a tenured (associate or full professor) faculty position in digital media, learning, and design. Digital games, online experiences, and social media are transforming learning and educational practices. We seek to expand on our existing strengths in digital media, learning, and design by hiring a scholar with a strong track record in both research and design for online and games-based learning. The department is strongly interdisciplinary, with faculty backgrounds in anthropology, computer science, education, engineering, humanities, media arts, organizational studies, and psychology. This, in no small measure, contributes to our strong international reputation as an innovative site for research and education on information technology and its applications. We wish to add a similarly interdisciplinary perspective on digital media, learning, and design. We are seeking a scholar who brings excellence in research together with a track record in innovative design and demonstrated large-scale social impact. We particularly welcome candidates whose work embodies a strong commitment to educational equity and progressive learning approaches, and who seek to improve diversity and inclusion in these new learning environments. We appreciate work in varied learning settings, both formal and informal, and varied platforms and mediums, which might include digital games, social media, mobile media, and the digital arts. The ideal candidate will also have experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and leading significant projects that cut across research and educational practice. UC Irvine is the youngest member of the prestigious Association of American Universities, and is ranked among the top ten public universities in the U.S. according to U.S. News and World Report. In 2015, it was ranked the #1 green university by Sierra Magazine in its sustainability report on U.S. colleges and universities, and was ranked the #1 school in the nation in doing the most for low-income students by The New York Times. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field and exhibit a compelling research portfolio as well as a clear vision for teaching. Applicants should also demonstrate a proven track record in funded research activities. Salary and other compensation (including priority access to on-campus faculty housing) are competitive with the nation's finest public universities. Each application must contain: a cover letter, CV, up to three key publications, a statement of research and teaching interests, and 3-5 letters of recommendation. A separate statement that addresses past and/or potential contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion must also be included. All materials must be uploaded at: https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/apply/JPF03670 The position is for appointment in July 2017. Applications will be accepted until '''November 14, 2016'''.
