Professor - Transatlantic, Transnational, Postcolonial Literary and Cultural Studies - MLA INTERVIEW STAGE=== The University of Texas at San Antonio Department of English seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2018. Required qualifications: 1) Demonstrated expertise in '''transatlantic, transnational, and/ or postcolonial literary and cultural studies''', with ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nineteenth century British literature; 2) Ph.D. in English or related discipline by August 2018. Preferred qualifications: 1) Focus in '''transatlantic, global and postcolonial literature, and/ or transnational studies'''; 2) Ability to contribute to multiple degree programs, including a Ph.D. program that offers students opportunities for advanced study and research in cross-cultural, transnational approaches to English language and literary studies, with coursework required in U.S. Latina/o literature and the theory and practice of teaching composition; 3) Strong evidence of teaching effectiveness and research potential in nineteenth century British literature, including areas such as transatlantic and diasporic literatures, colonization/decoloniality, critical race studies, and sexuality and gender studies. Teaching load before tenure is 2/2, with the expectation of strong, ongoing research productivity. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
