===Saint Mary’s College of California (CA) - TT Assistant Professor in Anglophone and 18th-Century Literature - ADDITIONAL MATERIALS REQUESTED=== Saint Mary’s College of California invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of English, with expertise in Anglophone literature and the long 18th Century. We especially welcome candidates working in the critical study of race and empire, the British Romantics and/or the development of the British novel. Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary programs, such as Ethnic Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies, is preferred. Saint Mary’s College of California is a private, Catholic, comprehensive and co-educational university that engages students in critical thinking, promotes social justice, and educates for human fulfillment consistent with its liberal arts, Catholic and Lasallian traditions. The College’s practices and policies reflect a commitment to inclusive excellence and a community in which all are valued, respected and supported. Standard teaching assignment is six courses annually; the position includes courses in 18th-century and Anglophone literature, lower-division English courses, and first-year composition. Faculty are also expected to teach in the College’s Core Curriculum, January Term, and Collegiate Seminar Programs. Ph.D. in English or Comparative Literature, or doctoral candidacy with expectation of degree by June 1, 2018.
